Driving home from Spring Break, my friends and I got an email announcing the extension of Spring Break for another week. We celebrated in disbelief.

One email a few days later turned my life upside down. No more Baylor. No in-person class, no sorority meetings, no job, no hanging out with friends, no working out at the SLC, nothing. To many, it may seem trivial, and I understand. My missed experiences are nothing considering the hardships currently experienced by others nationally and worldwide. But to me, I lost a lot. I felt robbed. I felt defeated. I had such good plans for the rest of the semester- not even bad plans! Plans to be intentional with friends, to share the Gospel with classmates, to dive deep with my life group – plans to finish out the semester strong. Crying (yes crying) on my bedroom floor, I thought to myself, “what am I supposed to do now?!”

And then, God spoke.

He is not done yet. God is not done yet.

This is what has sustained me the past month. God is not done yet. I am confident He still has things in store for this semester. There is still work to be done to advance the kingdom. There are still opportunities to laugh and make memories with my friends and family. A lot seems to have been taken away, but God is still there. He is still good. He is not phased, nor is His plan hindered by our Earthly situation. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. So many unexpected blessings in this season remind me that my plans don’t matter because my always-good, loving, holy God is still in control

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Many of you have been asking about what this means for my World Race trip in January. As of right now, I am blessed to say that my trip plans are completely unaffected. Adventures in Missions has been doing a great job of remaining confident and brave in their efforts to advance the gospel, while also seeking to protect missionaries in the field. Their official statements responding to COVID 19 can be reached at https://www.worldrace.org/3-19-2020-615-pm-coronavirus-covid-19-update/
